Question: Im a teen with some extra cash and i want to invest in stocks.. help?

hey

so im 16 and im a junior in high school.
i have about 50 bucks and i had a Personal Finance class at school and it made me want to buy a stock or stocks

i know you pay per share, plus the fee, but are there any good, cheap stocks that i could buy right now?

i dont really know much about this... please help!
my teacher was just telling us how banks only have a like 2% Interest rate right now.. and that we could probably be doing better in the stock market.

its only $50 so i dont mind losing it.

please give me some advice?

thanks so so much (by the way, my parents werent really sure, which is why im asking here)

Answer: I'm not sure you can open a stock account for only 50 bucks....but if you can, you should consider buying stock in a company you know something about...probably at least you know about the products of some company.... something you use and are impressed with....a video game...a brand of clothes...a chain of stores....if they do things well.... and you have reason to believe they will be successful....if they make you a happy customer....that's where you should probably invest....another problem you may run up against is many stocks cost more than 50 bucks for one share....
