Question: Majors and Minors :S Please Help.?

Ok, so I want to write this story but I am not too sure what majors or minors the characters should have. I am very confused with the PhD, Masters, Graduates, Undergraduates etc so... if you could explain.

Answer: Ella - English School Teacher

- Can be a graduate of Psychology, majoring in Educational Psychology - she can minor in English = English teacher

- Can be a graduate of AB English

- Minor can be anything not.. it can be political science, english (if she majored in Educational Psychology)

Alison - Fashion Desginer
She can actually just be a graduate of anything...

- She can major in fine arts, multimedia arts, fashion design. It is skill-based and so degrees can vary.

Lily = why not Engeneering Management?

Jason - Mechanic
I am sooo not going to college and spend 4 years to become a "mechanic". Mechanics usually go to vocational courses (2 years), or seminars which could be provided by their employer.

Liam - Pyschiatrist (about 14 years in school or so)

He can be an undergrad of BS Psychology (minor can be anything), BS Biological Science.

Then he spends 4 years in Medicine school to become a Doctor of Medicine

Then he spends two years or so to OJT (on the job training)

Then he spends another couple of years to specialize in psychiatry

Basic thing is:

None of them, except Liam, needs to have to go to a graduate study (what you get in college is called an undergrad). All, except Liam and Jason will go to college and spend their 4 years there.

Masters Degree are normally required to teach in college level. Means better pay. Liam does not need this to become a doctor

PHDs are required to teach in Universtiy level usually. Higher pay also. Liam does not need this to become a doctor.

PsyD - a special PHD for psychologists.. for Liam only - optional
