Question: My teenage daughter has a boyfriend and....?

at first everything was great. He was sooooooo nice, looked like a Abercrombie model, the whole "yes mam", "no mam". Supposedly his parents owned two companies, and he had lots of money, took my daughter out to eat at nice restraunts every day. Even treated myself and a friend of mine. Well.........Then one day he calls, and needs to store his furniture at my house (lost his apt), he has a 2006(financing??) honda accord, and goes out an buys (financing??) a new 2008 Avenger!!! I got nosey, and I look thru his paperwork that he left in my garage, and I find he is bouncing checks everywhere, and taking out check loans, and small loans. We're talking felony checks. Some of the furniture he has stored there came from a rental company. What should I do?? I think he is a habitual liar. (18 still goes to highschool w/ my daughter) He has part time job at American Eagle. How can he finance these vehicles, you think he is doing something illegal?? Fake I. D.??

Answer: Well, you already know he is writing felony checks. That's enough to tell you he's a liar. Be careful what you say to your daughter though. She will just think you're her mom and you don't want her to go out with him because when you're a teenager, all mom wants is to make you miserable, right? And knowing you wouldn't approve of this boy would make him more attractive to her. If you're daughter is not 18 yet, make it harder for her to see him. Shorter curfew, less time with him, more time with friends and family, take her out shopping. Keep her occupied. If it's not serious, it will run its course. If it is serious and she's 18 or older, you can't do much.
