Question: What should I prepare for an interview for a Corporate Finance/Equity Market Capital Graduate Programme?

I will be having a first round interview for a graduate programme position in Corporate Finance/Equity Market Capital in one of the large investment bank, in less than 1 week.

What should I prepare to perform well in the interview? FYI, I am from Engineering background with lack of financial knowledge.

Will reading financial news in the internet be enough to tackle some questions and show my interest in financial sectors?

What kind of questions they will ask you for first round interview? Is it true that 1st round interview with the recruitment manager will be more on the general questions instead of technical ones?

I am confused and nervous. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Thank you ^^

Answer: Equity Capital Market (ECM) is a market that exists between companies and financial institutions that is used to raise equity capital for the companies. Some activities that companies operate in the equity capital markets include: overall marketing, distribution and allocation of new issues; initial public offerings, special warrants, and private placements. Along with stocks, the equity capital markets deal with derivative instruments such as futures, options and swaps.

So, please get the above information's pertaining to the bank in which you have the interview ( you can get them on their website ) and you are SURE to be SELECTED !!
