Question: Aircraft financing rates?

What are current aircraft financing rates? I'm looking to finance about $30K which would represent approximately 50% of the value of the aircraft. I'd like to know the rates and length of the loan. Also, what are some recommended financing companies that have the most favorable rate.

Answer: It very much depends on the institution making the loan. On 80% financing for my $30k Cessna 172 I pay 7.5% through Bank of America. The good thing about used aircraft loans is you can get up to 10 years to amortize the cost. A shorter period gets you a cheaper interest rate. My payment on a 10 year loan, financing a total of $25k, is $310 per month. Not all lenders make aircraft loans. You'll have to shop around. I arranged mine with BA through the AOPA but probably could have found something a bit cheaper.

Question: Is it possible to exchange a vehicle which is currently on finance for another can with finance?

I have an Audi A4 2.0 TDI which i purchased on a finance package. Can i part exchange the audi and take a new finance deal with the car of my choice...? can i swap finance deals?

Answer: you never can swap. The existing one gets added to the new one.
