Question: I cant renew my Florida auto registration until i pay on a lien i had on a bike? Is this true?
I financed a motorcycle about 4 years ago from a small used bike dealership in Jacksonville. The guy seemed a little fishy and sneaky to me but i did it anyway. Getting into my second year of paying this guy he disappeared and i could not make payments. So whatever, so some guy offered to buy it from me lien and all since he just wanted it for track racing and did not need to register it. Now two years later this guy shows up and has put some kind of hold on my car registration where i cant renew it until i pay him off. I still owe about $3000. I just want to know if this is a new law in Florida before i go paying this guy off? First time i ever hear of this. By the way his name was Jim Davis. If you live in Jacksonville and ride you might know the shop he owned on beach blvd.
Answer: Just because you sold the bike doesn't mean that you don't have to pay for the bike as you agreed to in the first place. The guy wants his money and you owe him the money.... Pay him !
